Baring All
  • The hotel is not right in the city centre, so plan your taxis and excursions into town and allow for traffic
  • Treat yourself to afternoon tea on the outdoor terrace overlooking the park; it comes with a Brazilian twist

  • Take a ride to the high-end malls, Cidade Jardim and JK Iguatemi, for a spot of luxury shopping

  • Sophisticated entertainment often includes performances at the grand piano in the lobby

Why we like it
Why we like it

We like the feeling of grandeur that this imposing hotel commands within its lush, green parkland setting. Meanwhile, the luxurious and modern interior design feels understated, relaxed and is sympathetic to the building’s historic past. There’s a cool and elegant vibe here, the kind you get by being part of a country club set.

All the rooms and suites benefit from a view of Burle Marx Park, many from a private balcony or terrace, where it would be a pity not to sip a caipirinha or two. For extra space and comfort, book a Prestige Suite with a master bedroom, walk-in wardrobe, large living area, dining area and a bar for up to six guests, as well as a furnished terrace.

Just so you know
Just so you know

Palacio Tangara is an oasis in the city. Plants and trees in the park here play an important role in helping to purify the air quality. It’s the perfect place to escape to, away from the hustle and bustle, and is well worth taking the time to explore. The park’s forested areas, gardens and lake attract an array of wildlife, so whether you decide to aimlessly amble along or pick up the pace on one of the jogging trails, do keep an eye out for various birds and animals including opossums and the white tufted marmoset. You should also seek out historical buildings and areas of the park, including the House of Taipa.

If you want to discover the thriving, cosmopolitan city of Sao Paulo – known for its pulsating Latin energy, creativity and art scene – but don’t want to be in the thick of the action, Palacio Tangara will suit you. It is quiet and serene in contrast to the city, and you’ll enjoy a relaxing ambience by day and a smooth vibe by night.
