Streets in the heart of Paris are well known for their proclivity towards all things fine and fancy. The area radiates luxury and La Réserve Hotel & Spa matches that prestige. Its desirable location is on the Champs-Élysées’ doorstep, and the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is also just moments away. A 2015 renovation helmed by the legendary designer Jacques Garcia brought the hotel to its most elegant form yet: a veritable haven of chic Parisien luxury.
The hotel’s 15 rooms and 25 suites are all fabulously spacious; timelessly elegant without feeling showy. In some rooms you’ll find wine-coloured walls, while others are set in shades of cream and mocha. Expect antique furniture, intricate brocades and velvet drapes that frame floor-to-ceiling windows. Carrara marble bathrooms delight, and mod-cons like Nespresso machines come standard. Book a room on one of the higher floors for Eiffel Tower views.
The two Michelin-starred Le Gabriel is a must-visit for at least one dinner. There, the restaurant’s Napoleon III-inspired dining room serves as an elegant background for artfully prepared dishes, many of which are classically French with just a hint of Japanese flair. More Parisian cuisine can be enjoyed from a silk armchair in Le Pagode de Cos – a restaurant that boasts a posh afternoon tea, brunch and – perhaps most delightfully – a silver dessert trolley. Sip on a personalised cocktail at the chic and intimate Le Bar, or enjoy a glass of wine from the hotel’s impressively large collection.
There’s a host of things to do nearby (fashionistas and foodies will be absolutely spoilt for choice), but you may find yourself wanting to linger. The hotel’s library is a book lover’s heaven, and – as it is only open to hotel guests – is a blissfully tranquil place to curl up with a book. On Thursdays, the library hosts poetry evenings complete with champagne and presentations by esteemed poets. There’s also a fine spa with a posh treatment menu and a glamorous pool, in addition to a sleek fitness centre. Have a look at the hotel’s upcoming events before you go for special opportunities like wine master classes, dinner beneath the Louvre’s legendary pyramid or VIP tickets to exhibitions at some of the city’s most beloved museums. When you’re ready to venture out, you’re never more than a few steps from some of the best shops and restaurants the city has to offer.
