Set within 43 acres of lush gardens the Belmond Napasai makes for a sublimely tranquil hideaway in a secluded section of Koh Samui’s exclusive north coast. Whether wandering through gorgeous aromatic garden paths or gazing across the Gulf of Thailand, this is a resort that overflows with ways for you to find your nirvana.
Scattered between the coconut and cashew groves and connected by beautiful, flower-lined pathways are The Belmond Napasai’s sensational villas and residences. A wonderful blend of traditional Thai pavilions with elegant colonial touches both inside and out, each one is a wonderfully tranquil retreat. Dark teaks and bamboo wickerwork contrast beautifully with pristine white walls, with dashes of bright Thai artwork that create a truly serene atmosphere, and that’s even before taking in the sublime sea views all around. And yet while enjoying the scenery from your private balcony is an undeniable delight, there’s nothing quite like stepping straight onto the beautiful private beach from an Oceanfront Villa.
Groups, or those looking for even more luxurious space, will find it hard to resist the sublimely vast Oceanfront Residences with private kitchens and dining areas.
The Belmond Napasai’s secluded location means that those unwilling to travel far for meals will be largely restricted to the resort’s offerings, and thankfully there’s a sound selection. The elegant Lai Thai restaurant serves a delicious array of Thai and Chinese classics, but make sure you get your reservations in early to guarantee a balcony table for the most incredible dinner views. For something more laidback, dine at the resort’s private beach at the Beach Restaurant with a mouthwatering array of grilled seafood and meats. For cocktails or light snacks, head to the Infinity Bar adjoining the pool.
The Spa provides a delicious range of holistic treatments based on Thai traditions in a wonderfully tranquil part of the gardens, while yoga and tai-chi sessions take place on a stunning, purpose-built bamboo sky deck.
Looking for more action? The beautiful infinity pool overlooks the private beach which has an excellent watersports centre. Guests have complimentary access to paddle boards, windsurfing, kayaks and Hobie Cat catamarans. On-site, there are also outdoor tennis and badminton courts and an open-air Muay Thai ring. The Belmond Napasai offers a range of experiences including, but not limited to, scuba and snorkelling excursions, photography workshops, Thai cookery courses and language classes.
While there is no dedicated kids’ club, the Belmond Napasai welcomes families, and the huge range of activities on offer are sure to keep youngsters entertained.
